Canada Soccer eyes The Reds to play more home games, an official said.

Furthermore, Canada Soccer general secretary and chief exeuctive officer Kevin Blue cited the need for The Reds to establish more fan engagement.

Moreover, he noted that The Reds should take on “the right opponents.”

“We also need to make sure that all of the factors are being balanced,” Blue told The Athletic Tuesday.

“Preparing the country means have compelling, interesting opportunities for fans to engage with the team,” he added.

LESS AWAY FRIENDLIES LIKELY AFTER SCHEDULED WALES, ROMANIA EXHIBITIONS

The Reds are likely to get less away matches after its scheduled friendlies against Wales and Romania.

Moreover, those two matches are part of Canada’s September 2025 international window.

Furthermore, The Reds may take on South Americans in the last few international windows this year.

This is due to European and African teams playing World Cup Cup qualifiers in October.

The No.30 ranked Reds will stage their final sendoff match in Montreal before the World Cup.

BLUE SAYS CANADA SOCCER TO WORK WITH MLSE TO ENSURE MORE HOME MATCHES FOR THE REDS

Blue disclosed that Canada Soccer is willing work with Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment (MLSE) to stage home matches for The Reds.

Furthermore the official cited the MLSE in staging the Canadian Shield in home soil early this month.

Moreover, the MLSE, which owns the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors and Toronto FC, will help host friendlies in Toronto.

“We want to play the best opponents we possibly can to make sure our team on the men’s side is prepared to be as competitive as possible,” Blue said.

“The same thinking, of course, is in process for the 2027 World Cup and our women’s national team,” he added.
